Determine Battery Percentage

Hi,

I am in the process of building a wearable device and using a lithium polymer battery to power it. I'm trying to find out the way of determining the battery. The app will support both iOS and Android 4.0. Does anyone have any idea how to how can I accomplish this?

Please help.
